World Fashion in Jember

Actually this event has been heldthree months ago. In the time when this event celebrated, I haven’t had my own self-hosting blog like now . Though it is not a brand new fresh event but it’s very fascinating to get in touch with.

This event is called Jember Fashion Carnival ( JFC ). Jember Fashion Carnaval ( JFC) in an annual fashion carnival held in Jember, east java by August 2008. This year, the JFC has been counted the seventh. Thousands visitors come to see this celebration, from local tourists and foreigners.

This event comprising various world cultures, The JFC this year is taken ‘World Evolution’ as title, and performed into nine defiles. The themes are various too, the Papua archipelago until the human robot.

Jember Fashion Carnival - The Forest

A little bit different from the previous events, this year the JFC performed NOT only fashion parades, but also provide the marching band.

“This year we give the audiences with different concepts, so people here not only able to enjoy musics, but also the eye-catching performances of the marching-bands” says Dynand Fariz, the president of Jember Fashion Carnaval Council ( JFCC).

The convoy started by :

• Archipelago Papua,
• Barricade ( depiction of the police and security team )
• Off Earth ( condition of earth-people which almost completely in plastic)
• Gate-11 ( depiction of an international airprot waiting room, fulfilled with various citizen from various country)
• Root (depiction of illegal logging)
• Metamorphic (depiction metamorphoses of evil to good )
• Undersea (depiction of the beauty of sea bottom)

There are at least 550 participant getting involved in this parade, fight over some trophy provided by the commitee, namely the JFC Award for Best Costum Award, Unique Costum Award, Best Presenter and Best Performance.
