Musashi Miyamoto

Musashi Miyamoto is one among samurai which is very famous, and had been considered as ‘the God of sword’ in Japan. Mushashi was born when Japan was still in civil war (onin). Musashi was known as the one that always brings two swords anywhere. When the army was dismissed by Hideyoshi and Leyasu, many of the Ronin ( samurai with no master ) wandered with no destination

Ronin lived apart from society. Samurai that time became an isolated which still holds the ancient tradition of military art of Japan. Musashi – which in the golden of Samurai is considered the best ever – kept him self as a Ronin, by searching for enlightment through kendo. That time, the rest of the Ronin had given up their life as farmers.

It was hard to be Samurai, whereas a Samurai must be able to hold hunger, pain, and suffer. They are commanded to act like there’s nothing wrong even when they hurt so badly.

Tokugawa had been fearful of rebellion, therefore, a rule was made towards the Daimyo, that was Daimyo must live in capital. They were allowed to inspect their provinces once in a time, and not allowed to bring their family with them.

Samurai was a civil servant of the feudal, which was very loyal, to the authority and to the system of the country which counted on military. Samurai served a Shogun/Jenderalisimo which beat the barbarian ( Ruth Benedic, 1979). In each province, Shogun has Daimyo which authored the province/perfecture. Daimyo had samurai who’s been loyal with all their body and soul .

The Noble Caste of Samurai

Samurai in the past was getting into noble caste. They were a high class society with special rights. The Tokugawa period ( 1603) had signed the changing history on Japanese society. Tokugawa authority had spread over to thoroughly to the entire part of life, from education, legal act, government, and almost all level including suit and behavior of every level of society was being managed.

There were four class in Japanese society that time, first is Samurai, farmers, artists, and trader.
