Segara Anakan Bay
Another interesting vacation spot in Forest Purwo National Park is Segara Anakan (Anakan Ocean). Segara Anakan (Anakan Ocean) shaped as a small bay with 18,8 km longand about 400 meters wide, and facing Indian Ocean (Samudera Hindia in Indonesian). Segara Anakan is counted as the largest mangrove forest area in East Java, with at least 26 mangrove species which is dominated by rhizopora, bruguiera, avicenia and sonneratia.
In October till December, visitors can also witnes thousands of birds, which migrates from Australia. Some of those are identified as Halcyon chloris, merops philippinus, actitis hypoleucos, and tringa glareola.
