The name Chichén Itzá means ‘in the water-source of society’, it is an indian. Chichén Itzá in that moment was the symbol of worship and science. It is built by King of Toltec tribe named Quetzalcoatl from Yukatan peninsula. The Mayan was still living the area, and together with Toltec tribe, the built a temple/pyramid. Thus Chichén Itzá was the combination of Mayan and Toltec cultures.
Chichén Itzá is the centre of another monument like Kukulcan pyramide, Chac Mool temple, and A Thousand Pillars. There are two natural wells ( cenotes) which used as the place to put veneration. It is said that the Mayan had presented jade, china, animals and even human as veneration.
The sacrifice was given in drought. The cenotes had given a great deal towards the society around Yukatan peninsula, this is because there’ no rivers in the peninsula. That means the cenotes were the only water well.
