Mount Tochal of Iran

Iran is one of country in middle-east with wide area of sand desert. However the fact is, there are a lot of mountains covered with ice, among others is around city Teheran, which is called Mount Tochal (3.500 metres).

Teheran city is not very high, the heat has made snow in mount tochal referred as mortal. When summer arrives (around three month in one year), snows in mountain will melt.

Giri Salaka Sacred Temple

In addition to the nature’s beauty, Forest Purwo also has some historical place which often visited. This historical spot is concerning so close to the Forest Purwo’s legend. It is believed that Forest Purwo was the last escape of Majapahit people from the Mataram Kingdom’s aggression.

The historical site in Forest Purwo is Pura Luhur Giri Salaka ( Giri Salaka Sacred Hinduis-Temple), which is the praying temple for Hinduist who live around this national park. The Hinduist in this area is believed as the inherintance of Majapahit, which migrated to Blambangan Peninsula.

Pura Luhur Giri Salaka in visited mostly during Pagerwesi Ceremony. Pagerwesi Ceremony is held every 210 days as a gratitude to God in Heaven for the science and knowledge God send to earth.

Ashoka, the Legend and the Love Symbol

Ashoka tree ( bunga asoka in Indonesian) is standing tree which flowers throughout the year. As tropics flower, it loves direct sunshine. Sunshine will fit it’s color best and bright. Ashoka love damp soil too, so make sure to water it regularly. Ashoka is very much liked for it’s compact and colorful flowers, with green leaves.

Another interesting point about this beautiful flower is the legend that comes with it, especially the story in India’s culture.It is believed that Sakyamuni, the founder of Budda and Nirvana doctrine, was born under ashoka tree by the tenth century. Ashoka trees are worshipped by the Buddhist. While for Hinduist, this flower is a symbol of love.
