Plengkung Beach, The G-land

Plengkung Beach located in the south part of Forest Purwo National Park. Plengkung beach has been worldwide known as water ski, for it’s favorable waves. The term ‘G-land’ is given for the fact that the water ski spot, lies in Grajagan Gulf, which forms like letter ‘G’ .

Another reason behind the term ‘G-land’ is because Plengkung beach seen always Green, whereas the landscape surround is near by the tropics forest Purwo.

Favorable Great Wave in G-Land has made it becoming one among 4 world’s best ski spot

The water skiers called the ‘G-land’ for the Great wave, with the height up to 4-6 meters in 2 km long coast, and forming up to 7 scrolling waves. G-land has been one among four world best spot for water ski, in addition to Hawaii, Australia and  South Africa.

Sadengan Savannah of Forest Purwo

In addition to the forest, Alas Purwo/Forest Purwo also has a savannah named Sadengan. Sadengan Savannah has +/- 20 ha wide. This savannah is a tending field of wild animals like Panthers, Javanese Wild Ox, Antelope, Deer, Peacock, Jungle Fowl, etc.

Forest Purwo National Park (Alas Purwo in Indonesian) is located in Banyuwangi, East Java Province, Indonesia. Banyuwangi it self is about 10 km west of Bali, and divided by Bali strait.

Forest Purwo is a heterogenic forest with 43.420 ha wide, with a complete nature (sea, sand, sun, forest, wild animal & sport) and culture spots. Forty percent of the area is dominated with Bamboo Forest.

Based on the ecosystem types, Forest Purwo is divided into some areas, like Bamboo Forest, Beach-Foret, Mangrove, Natural Forest, and Feeding Ground.

Alas Purwo in Indonesian/Javanese language means ‘ The First Forest‘, or it is believed as the oldest forest in Java Island. No wonder, the local people considers Alas Purwo/Forest Purwo as a sacred place, with a bunch of mystical sphere in certain spots.
