Beautiful Leaves of  Canna Plant (Canna indica)

During my everyday leaving home to work and the other way around,  I have this BIG curiosity toward this beautiful flower called Canna. In Indonesia, these Flowers usually are  planted in plural in gardens,  sidewalks for pedestrians or as street winnow. It is also known as prayer-beads flower ( bunga tasbih in Indonesian), or sometimes as forest-ganyong.

Flower Canna (Canna indica L) is flora that assumed coming form tropical area of America. If in origins, canna colored in red, yellow and pink, now there are many new variant color, as the result of crossing beeds.

In addition the the flower, the leaf of canna is also considerable. The various color like red maroon, old green, chartreuse, and artistic motives which looks like batik. That is why, though it doesn’t have flowers, the canna nuances will be able to beautify fences too. continue reading »

The Sibolangit forest is a piece of tropical rain forest in Sumatra. Administratively in Sibolangit, the district of Deli Serdang, Sumatra.

Since Sibolangit forest an example of rain forest, it has complete nature’s relief, the mountain range, wildlife, the river flows and plants. this can be a very good spot for the backpacker.

As a vacationland, the Sibolangit forest has so many to offer, the ones which has been generally known and recomended are :

  • Sibolangit Vacation Park
  • Sibolangit Natural Park, and
  • Sibolangit Forestry Park.

In the rainy season, the water flows will spread on to 2 metres wide, but the water height in not more than an adult’s calf.

The Legend of Lake Sarangan

Once upon the time, there was an old couple whose names were Grandpa Pasir and Grandma Pasir ( pasir = sand ) living in the east forest of Mount Lawu. Slope. Both of them lived in a simple house made of firewood with roof of dried leaves.

To afford their daily living, grandpa Pasir planted greens in their own field. One day during his excavating ground for field, he was surprised with an existence of an egg under a big forest tree.

It is a bit strange actually, there’s no poultry around, but how come an egg was suddenly appeared there. But without long consideration, Grandpa Pasir immediately took the yisterious egg home, and gave it to his wife.
